Winter Group Exhibition

Gallery FUMI is delighted to announce the opening of Winter Group Show, 21 November 2017 to 24 February 2018. The show features a curated selection of works from the gallery’s represented designers and artists, including Glithero, Max Lamb, Rowan Mersh and Sam Orlando Miller. FUMI is also continuing the dialogue and cooperation with ammann // gallery, showing important works by Italian design collective Studio Nucleo. Re-appropriating discarded objects from a past era and freezing them within a three-dimensional body of vibrantly pigmented epoxy resin, as if suspended in time, Nucleo’s work addresses concepts of fragility and ephemerality, capturing the essence of the designers’ singular practice. The show will also include Rowan Mersh’s Dreamcatcher V, the latest example from the artist’s acclaimed series of wall-mounted sculptural installations made of shells, a corpus of six glass artworks by Josepha Gasch-Muche, exhibited in London for the first time, and Woodware Lounge Chair, from Max Lamb’s Woodware Series (2011) entirely made out of dowels in a variety of hard woods. Comprising the two floors of its Mayfair gallery, the show is a great representation of materiality and craft, which are the core FUMI’s values and aesthetics.
