Exhibitions

A project by Mariane Ibrahim, Ad Libitum brings together artists and designers whose practices explore the themes of improvisation and materiality. Meaning both ‘at one’s pleasure’ and a musical call to improvisation, serves as a metaphor for the convergence of artists, designers, and friends of the gallery. The presentation unveils a celebration of friendship, collective spirit, craftmanship and cultural multiplicity.

Marking its Chicago debut, Gallery FUMI presents a curated selection of works by its designers and artists that reflect an intuitive, process-led approach - where form, texture and technique converge in unexpected and expressive ways. Set in dialogue with Mariane Ibrahim’s selection of works by Peter Uka and Darryl Richardson, the exhibition invites connections across disciplines, geographies, and modes of making.
