Gallery FUMI is delighted to announce its presence at PAD London this October. The Gallery will present a selection of contemporary works by their talented roster of designers and artists including some familiar names and a few new additions: Studio Silverlining, Alex Hull, Sam Orlando Miller, Faye Toogood, Rowan Mersh, Jeremy Wintrebert, Thomas Lemut, Studio Markunpoika, Zoé Ouvrier and Enrique Perezalba Red. Always pushing the possibilities of material use and craftsmanship, Studio Silverlining’s ‘Antelope Cabinet’, made with Rosewood, stacked leather and bronze detailing, illustrates a sentiment close to the heart of the Gallery; pushing ideas consistently forward whilst exploring materials, understanding their origins and developing intention to reach the most innovative and beautiful end piece. Another key piece in this year’s exhibition is the Engineering Temporality Cabinet by newcomer Studio Markunpoika. This piece is part of a series that proved to be a huge success at this year’s Designs of the Year exhibition at the Design Museum, London. An original wooden cabinet has been used as the base for the application of thousands of welded steel rings and then burnt away to reveal a lace-like exoskeleton. The series comprises of a cabinet, chair and chandelier commissioned this year by Gallery FUMI. Another new addition to be represented at this year’s exhibition is Enrique Perezalba Red; a recent graduate of the RCA who creates sculptural works in ceramics and bronze. Other pieces will include a pair of patinated, Roman red and steel sculptural mirrors by Sam Orlando Miller. Always pushing the boundaries of contemporary design and amongst the forerunners in this field in London, directors Sam Pratt and Valerio Capo continue to curate inspiring and forward thinking exhibitions and are delighted to again be showcasing their talented roster amongst the other leading galleries profiled this year at the fair.
