Location: Villa La Vigie, Monte-Carlo Beach Club 2, Avenue Princesse Grâce, 98000 Monaco
Gallery FUMI and Louise Alexander Gallery are delighted to announce a joint presentation on the occasion of NOMAD Monaco 2018. The two galleries will unveil an elegantly curated selection of contemporary art and design.
In the wake of Max Lamb’s acclaimed opening at The Art Institute of Chicago, the selection is headlined by two new pieces from the British designer’s Urushi collection. Prized for its highly innovative approach to design, Lamb’s oeuvre is set in dialogue with a suite of four major artworks by Guy Bourdin, belonging to his sought-after photographs from the 1970s and 80s. A dominant figure within the contemporary critical discourse, Bourdin’s work, renowned for its profound contribution to the history of photography, is held in prestigious public collections, such as The MoMA, New York, Tate, London and Getty Museum, Los Angeles.
Reflecting on the rich architectural legacy of Villa La Vigie, the exhibition will also feature a large-scale sculpture by Rowan Mersh, revealing the artist’s mastery of his signature medium: shells. Other works being shown by the London-based gallery include projects by atelier lachaert dhanis and Francesco Perini.
