San Giovanni Valdarno, Italy
Francesco Perini was born in San Giovanni Valdarno, just outside of Florence, in 1966, in a territory deeply rooted in the noble Tuscan tradition of craftsmanship.Perini’s artistic inspiration comes from the observation of the world, the knowledge that there is a link between real and unreal and the admiration of the cardinal elements such as fire earth air, and water. Francesco Perini has a strong bond with his native land, he is enchanted by sounds and scents, and he is fascinated by the quiet of the countryside and the sea. His works are affected by his passion and the constant search for beauty. The selection of the finest woods – purchased from their country of origin - distinguishes the work of Francesco Perini. All the creations enhance the use of solid wood, worked, carved, sanded, and treated according to Tuscan handcrafting techniques. Wax, natural oils, and pigments are mixed with rare materials, creating refined and original combinations. Manual processes that blend with cotto, pietra serena, cardoso, granite marble, steel, leather, and the most precious cashmere wool, create unique pieces.
