San Giovanni Valdarno, Italy
Francesco Perini was born in San Giovanni Valdarno in aterritory deeply rooted in the noble Tuscan tradition of craftsmanship.Perini’s artistic inspiration comes from an astute observation of the world, fromthe knowledge that there is a link between real and unreal, and from an instinctualadmiration of the cardinal elements of fire, earth, air, and water. The designerhas a strong bond to his native land, enchanted by its distinctive sounds andscents, by the quietude of the countryside and sea. Selecting the finest woods, sourced from their country of origin, distinguishes his work. Driven by an unendingsearch for beauty, Perini’s works enhance the use of solid wood, worked, carved, sanded, and treated according to Tuscan handcrafting techniques. Wax,natural oils, and pigments are mixed with rare materials, creating refined and singularcombinations. Perini employs manual processes that blend with cotto, pietraserena, cardoso, granite marble, steel, leather, and the mostprecious cashmere wool to create pieces without compare.
